Hamburg Area High School has many wonderful things to offer such as attending BCTC. Berks Career and Technology Center lets students have an opportunity to learn about jobs and participate in hands-on learning. Some of the many programs they offer are Construction, Healthcare, Business & Information Technology, and Transportation. Sixteen schools attend BCTC such as Boyertown, Exeter, Fleetwood, and Tulpehocken. It is a great way to learn about jobs before going to college.

Haley Hendel is a sophomore at Hamburg, and it is her first year going to BCTC. She really enjoys baking so she is going for culinary arts. When she grows up she wants to start her own bakery or open a coffee shop, so this will prepare her for it. Some of her favorite things to bake are cookies because they are simple and delicious. Haley said, “So far I think I am gonna like it. There’s a lot of different ways they teach us. Sometimes we go outside or do hands-on activities or play review games.” On a normal day for Haley she gets there at 12 and normally does theory or goes to the kitchen. They get done by 1:30 then the rest of the day they spend cleaning up.
