Alexis Velasquez is a freshman at Hamburg Area High School. She is a dedicated member of choir, but that’s not the only fun fact about her. Alexis’s dedication to her animals is the thing that separates her from her classmates. Her house is decorated with all kinds of different animals. Solar, Comet, Stella, Astro, and Nebula, her five leopard geckos roam around her house. She has a red eyed crocodile skink named Luna. All of her reptiles have celestial names.
Along with her reptiles, Alexis has two cane corsos, both of them are a year and a half old. Their names are Ares and Kratos. Ares is much bigger than Kratos who is her mom’s dog and a troublemaker. “He likes to rearrange furniture.’ Alexis remarked to me. She also has a hamster who she described as fat named Moony, another celestial name.
Her love for animals goes beyond. In addition to her many pets, Alexis also loves to ride horses. She has been doing it for about eight years and before she moved to saddle seat she competitively did show jumping.
