Halloween is a festive and enjoyable time for everyone who celebrates the holiday. There are costumes that are traditional and adored like ghosts and zombies, but there are bound to be a few costumes that do not see eye to eye as much as others, and the same thing goes for Hamburg’s view on Halloween costumes. Hamburg Area High School shared what costumes they do not want to see this year.
Most responses to this poll were the same, but there were a few outliers to this. One person said they do not want to see Harley Quinn this year, someone else said a clown, another said Coraline, someone even said they do not want to see a costume of themselves. Other outliers are not wanting to see any costumes that are related to Diddy, anything from Descendants the Movie, Chicken Jockey, K-Pop Demon Hunters, Barbie and Ken, and more.
The most common costume people at HAHS said they did not want to see is a Skibidi Toilet costume, with eight total responses, and after asking someone who responded with that answer on why, they said that the costume was cringey.
The second most common response was a six-seven costume with five different responses with the reasoning from someone being that the meme is overrated by now, and the costume would seem kind of corny. There were also inflatable costumes mentioned by two people, and after asking Freshman Briley Reinert on why she answered how she did, she said because those types of costumes are kind of overused in her opinion. One final common costume that was mentioned were costumes that are just a standard outfit, given by five different people. After asking someone why they felt that way about said costume, their reasoning was for the basic costumes, people can not tell what they are meant to be, and it is seen as unimaginative.
Freshman Delayna Grim and two other people said they do not want to see a Labubu costume this Halloween because she thinks they are overrated. Though, Delayna does expect to see this costume this year. Finally, after asking who she will be this year, she said she is most likely going to be Courtney Love, who is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and actress.
