“Firstly, it’s not ‘L-o-l’; it’s Lole, like “Low-Lay,” Says Ava on her commonly mispronounced last name. Ava Marie Lole was born on August 1, 2011, in Staten Island, New York. Although she enjoyed her time there up until age eight, she moved slightly before Covid to Pennsylvania. Her little sister, Elise, was born in 2017 and currently goes to Perry Elementary. Ava attended Schuylkill Valley until seventh grade before transferring to Hamburg. That was when she met her first new friend, Leandra Musser.
“She’s pretty radical,” Ava explains, “. . . We were on good terms, but when I learned we had the same birthday, that’s when we really became friends.”
What Ava looks forward to in the day is seeing her friends, voice class with Mrs. Jackson, talking in brainrot, listening to Billie Eilish, and Mary Poppins rehearsal. Ava has a gentle yet resilient vocal presence and a knack for acting. She has the eighth grade musical Seussical Jr. to thank for getting her back into the Arts. “I always wanted to act, but (Seussical) really helped me practice singing, which I wasn’t so sure about. Getting a lead made me want to sing even more.”
Her other hobbies include drawing, reading, drama, picking on her little sister, and quoting her favorite book, The Outsiders. S. E Hinton’s 1967 novel on the Greasers and Socs of Tulsa, Oklahoma influenced Ava’s life in unimaginable ways. Just ask her friends. Hanna Sterner quotes, “It’s so bad. You can’t hold a single conversation without having ‘Is this an Outsiders reference?!’ thrown in your face. Her obsession is worse than the quality of the 1990’s remake of the Outsiders; and that’s bad.”
Finally, at the end of the day there is nothing that relaxes Ava more than watching Slime ASMR on TikTok.
