Since we are about a month into the 2025-2026 school year, it is a good time to see how students are starting to feel about their classes. Most students are already used to high school and how the atmosphere is, especially how some of the teachers are. But for others, such as freshmen or new students, it can tend to be a bit more difficult due to everything being new.
Freshman Noelle Bowen seems to be pretty comfortable with the school year so far. For right now, everything has been fun. As of now, her easiest class has been gym, and her Publications writing has been the easiest. On the other hand, though, her Honors English class has been getting a bit stressful along with her Honors Biology work. She is looking forward to homecoming week and upcoming projects. Noelle hopes to end the first quarter with A’s, which shows that she feels comfortable with her current schedule of classes and teachers.
Sophomore Ana Smith is also having a good start to the year. In some of her classes right now, she is just reviewing, such as in Spanish 2. She enjoys that, as Spanish was something that came easily to her. Her World Cultures class has also been on the easy side, as she feels that Mr. Buggy is a good teacher and his assignments do not take up too much time. For other classes, though, such as AP Environmental Science, the workload is slowly starting to pile up, and understanding certain topics in Chemistry is starting to become an issue due to the idea of learning completely new material. She also looks forward to homecoming week, along with the rest of her field hockey season. Overall, her year is starting well, a little stressful, but it has helped her learn that she needs to work on her time management.
For most students, the year starts a little stressful due to some higher-level classes, but there is usually an easy class somewhere that helps take off some of the stress. And some of the early annual activities help boost students’ moods. Overall, most students tend to feel better about their classes after a couple of weeks.
