On September 17, 2025, the final episode of the popular series The Summer I Turned Pretty was released on Prime Video. After three seasons of summers at Cousins Beach, love triangles, heartbreak, and growing pains, Belly Conklin’s story finally comes full circle in the series finale, “At Last.” It was the episode the fans had been waiting for, not just to see who she ends up with, but to see how she comes to that decision. By the end, the show delivers not only closure but also a sense of self-ownership, love, and emotional truth.
As the show came to an end, some students of Hamburg Area High School and fans of the show shared their thoughts on the finale. Sophomore Molly Fox said she was happy that team Conrad won in the end, but she did not like how the show wrapped things up. She stated, “They didn’t show anything about their life in a few years,” and that was something she was really looking forward to. While she was sad to see the series end, she is excited for the upcoming movie and believes the show actually surpassed the books–especially since it sparked so many funny TikTok trends.
Senior Tia Adam also reflected on the finale. She appreciated that much of the show stayed faithful to the books and that the production team clearly put effort into it for the fans. Like Molly, she was sad the show had ended after following it since her Freshman year, but she is thrilled about the upcoming movie. Still, she was disappointed by the finale. “I’m team Conrad because I read the book, but he did have many flaws in the last season. Overall, though, he really cared about her,” Tia said.
She admitted she did not remember all the book details since it had been a while, but she wished the final season had included more Conrad scenes. Tia also shared that she did not enjoy Belly’s character as much in the show. “She really did not see how the brothers were going through stuff, and she never really saw herself as the issue. It seemed this way until she finally lost them both, and I feel like the book didn’t really show that. Instead, in the book, I felt that she understood more about some of the issues,” she explained.
