Hamburg Area High School Student Council held a T-shirt design competition for the charity basketball game scheduled for February 20. All designs submitted had to be turned in to Mr. Gaul’s room or to be emailed to Kaylum Riegel on September 5. The contest was open to anyone that wants to participate in all grades 9-12. All designs had to have a hawk related element, a basketball related element, must be school appropriate, professional in appearance, and must be an original design. HAHS had seven designs submitted in total.
On September 8, Kaylum Riegel sent out a vote to determine the winner of the contest. The voting concluded on Friday, September 12. There were a total of 216 people who voted in the form. Out of all seven designs submitted, the winner of the contest was design two from the form. It displayed a hawk dunking a basketball. The winner of the Charity Basketball T-Shirt design contest was Option 2 created by Birgitta Mullen, pictured below. Student Council wants to thank everyone who participated and voted
Mr. Gaul, the advisor of student council, was questioned about the contest. He thinks that it is a great way to see students get involved. The next year the contest will be held is 2027.
