“Time cast a spell on you/ But you won’t forget me.” exclaims Stevie Nicks in her 1976 rock ballad “Silver Springs” written about her messy situationship with Lindsey Buckingham. Lovers in high-school, this dynamite duo moved to Hollywood in hopes of being recognized. They recording their debut, and only, album under the title “Buckingham Nicks” to commercial failure in 1973. The album leaked to an on the rise British band under the same label: Fleetwood Mac. By December of the next year, Buckingham was offered a spot as lead guitarist of the band. Lindsey agreed under one condition; Stevie was coming too. The duo’s album was pulled from shelves and never released to digital platforms.
Until now.
July 23, billboards popped up in Los Angeles, California over Sunset Blvd. featuring the iconic album cover with the date September 19. Warner Brothers soon confirmed Buckingham Nicks was to have an official roll-out later this year.
“Stevie Nicks has really put her voice and stage presence back in full force with reissue of Buckingham Nicks,” Delayna Grim says.
Long awaited singles such as “Crying in the Night” and “Don’t Let Me Down Again” hold the same mystery and ambiance as some of their best. Fleetwood Mac fans will not be disappointed.
