The school year has just begun and already, Hamburg Area High School has an exciting event coming up. Homecoming is a tradition many schools across the United States celebrate in many ways and many different sports, especially with a football game and a dance to welcome students to the new school year and get them excited with school spirit. However, originally it was for schools to welcome the alumni back, as well as raise the school spirit.
At HAHS, the Student Council, as well as the junior class officers, take the role of planning the homecoming game and dance. The day of the homecoming game, the student council puts on a Fall Fest during the seventh and flex periods. It allows the clubs to sell different things and the students get to enjoy food, crafts, and music. The game will take place on October third and the dance will take place on the fourth. Homecoming King and Queen are announced at the game during half time. The dance will take place in the cafeteria from 6-9. So far for the dance, a DJ has been hired, there will be security, tickets will be $10, and food will be decided. If a student wishes, they may also bring a guest that does not go to Hamburg. Guest forms can be found in the office and were also sent out in an email from Mrs. Trubilla. More information is to come.
