With the 2025-2026 football season underway, so begins the start of school spirit. Our school already goes above and beyond any theme, whether it is simple or not, even during school spirit days. This ultimately leads to the football stadium being filled with spirit on Fridays. One of the students’ favorite ways to add some spirit to their outfit is by getting their face painted at the LEO Club stand that is positioned in front of the concession stand. Many students who tend to work shifts at the football games seem to always go all out with their face paint. Some students who worked the stands and participated in getting their faces painted were Lydia Fultz and Bethany Stufflet.
Lydia has been in the LEO Club for three years and is the treasurer, and Bethany has been in for four years and is the secretary. They both got their faces painted at both the camo night and the Hawaiian-themed night. Their looks for camo night tended to be a simpler design as compared to the Hawaiian looks that included both dots and hibiscus flowers. Besides just getting their faces painted, they both volunteered for two shifts that night. They both agree that the idea of having a cheap facepainting stand at football games is a great way to show spirit and have fun. If Lydia could change one thing, it would be to invest in stencils for more complicated designs. Bethany, on the other hand, thinks that the setup works well, especially considering what is provided for the club.
Other participants included Rylee Strunk and Brady Breininger. Rylee had worked a shift during the camo night and enjoyed both her face paint and painting the designs. On the Hawaiian night, she had also matched the dot and hibiscus flower theme. Brady, who is a former Hamburg student, came back to see some of his friends who are still in high school. He got a simple line of yellow and orange on both of his cheeks. If he could add anything, he would add some more designs to pick from. He enjoyed the face paint and will definitely be getting it again if he shows up to another game in the future.
Overall, the face painting at home football games seems to be a big hit among students due to the spirit that it expresses. Hopefully, LEO Club will have a big success from sales by the end of the football season.
