Over the past couple of years, we have had an undercover photographer who for some sat next to in class. Owen Heim is 16 years old and from Hamburg, Pennsylvania and was born and raised here. His mother was his personal photographer for his baseball games, which is where he was introduced to the art of photography. Owen inherited his camera from his mom and started to take pictures of roller coasters. He loves amusement parks, so he turned his entertainment into a hobby. He made social media accounts and projected his photos of amusement parks, statues, and roller coasters. He even went to the extent of quitting his job at Burger King to pursue this dream.
Owen is now taking pictures inside and outside of school for almost everyone and even a picture hanging up in the LGI. He uses a Nikon Z50 and the lens is a Tamron 170-180 millimeter (F 2.8). The prices are: senior pics $75; sport teams $100; individual players $25; relationship $50; car/truck $40-$50. Although Owen takes many pictures, what he became known for was his football pictures. Alexander Soto says, “Everyone’s jaw drops when they see their own photo. I love Owen Heim”. Owen says he hears the same thing all the time “Your pictures are awesome.”
Not only does Owen take the photos, he edits them as well. He pays for a $50 subscription to Light Room Classic. He said, “It takes a while to edit, hour and hours and hours.” Of course with a hobby comes some little clean ups that no one enjoys. Almost like it turns into a pet peeve of performing that task. One pet peeve for Owen is, “I get the perfect shot but it’s slightly out of focus.”
Since he spends so much time with his camera, it gets irritating, but without a camera there is no Owen. If his camera could talk, it say? ” He said, “he is a cool guy and takes some pretty awesome pictures.”
Book a photography session with Owen! His Instagram is owen_heim_phtography, same as his Tiktok. Owens main website is owenheimphotography.pixieset.com. And if passing Owen around school, let him know that he is a cool guy, so his camera doesn’t have to!
