Ms. Missimer has officially taken the position of Vice Principal at the Hamburg Area High School since 1 July 2025. Missimer started her education for teaching at Kutztown University, where she got her bachelors and later her masters in reading, and she has been teaching for 21 years.
Missimer, who was a former English teacher at the Hamburg Area Middle school for previous years, was offered the position at the high school last spring. She loves the new position, and even though it is just the start, she says it has been going very well. She can not wait to enjoy all her firsts in activities such as senior sunrise, homecoming, and many more but is most excited for graduation. Graduation is meaningful to her because she gets to see the kids she has previously taught finish an important part in their life.
While teaching, a big lesson Ms. Missimer has learned is to never judge a book by its cover, meaning give everyone the benefit of the doubt, because a person never knows what someone is going through.
In her free time Missimer enjoys spending time outside. She likes to workout, hike, and definitely loves spending time with her children.
Mrs. Bowen says, “She has been proactive, and working very hard to build relationships with the staff and students.” She also says, “She has been doing a great job at learning the building, and has shown many signs to a good future at Hamburg High School.” Working to be a positive leader, who will also enforce the policies and procedures of the school, Ms. Missimer is going to do great things here at the Hamburg Area High School. Make sure to give her a warm welcome.
