The 2025 softball team is full of talent and girls who have a lot of love and passion for the game. Last season the team played phenomenally throughout the season and won County’s. They were awarded the title of 2024 Berks County Champions. This year the team is motivated to win again.
In the first game of the 2025 season the Hawks played Governor Mifflin and won by a whopping 16 runs with the final being 20 – 4. They then won the next four straight games until the sixth game of the season against Northwestern Lehigh. They were a good team and outplayed the Hawks, taking the win. Since then the softball team has been on a roll and winning many games.
A big part of sports is teamwork. The reason why the girls are able to succeed is because they work together on the field and communicate well. They pick each other up when things go wrong, and the team is constantly trying to improve and get better. At practice, everyone puts in effort and does not only just go through the motions but really tries to better themselves.
The 2025 season has been quite successful so far and there are many great memories to share. Freshman starter, Kaida Chwatek says, “My favorite part of the season so far is when we won against Twin Valley 8 – 7. It was a close game but when we came from behind to take the win it felt good.” She, and the rest of the Hamburg softball team is also looking forward to the rest of the season and hopefully making it to districts and counties.
