Meet Maile Bentz, a junior who starts her day bright and early at 5:45 AM. After a quick breakfast, she drives herself and her cousin Owen to school, a 30-minute ride. Maile is taking some challenging AP classes this year, including AP U.S. History and AP English Language. Her favorite class is Spanish 3, where she enjoys doing lots of hands-on projects. But she does find Honors Chemistry a bit confusing.
Outside of class, Maile stays busy with extracurricular activities. She is involved in Student Council, Math Honor Society, National HonorSociety, and serves as Class Secretary. This year, she has been working hard to plan prom and hopes to be re-elected so she can help organize senior events like graduation and the class trip.
After school, Maile takes some time to relax before heading to Dance Pointe Studio, where she dances four times a week for one to four hours each night. Once she is home, she showers, finishes any homework, and makes sure to get to bed by 10:30 PM to be ready for the next day.
Looking ahead, Maile is considering a major in dietetics. She has toured Shippensburg and Marywood universities and has plans to visit the University of Pittsburgh, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and West Chester University. While she is still exploring her options, Maile is excited about finding the right path for her future.
