April 1 is a day for practical jokes and hoaxes. Jokesters often expose their actions by shouting April Fools! This annual “holiday” has been celebrated for over 500 years.
In Hamburg Area High School the lunch staff played an April fools prank displayed on the lunch menu. Lunch during April 1 was the choice between cow tongue on bun or chicken feet and rice. Although this was not the only prank played during school. Senior Caiden Kristiniak said, “Mr. McBreen gave me a brown E today.”
Landon Poulios says, “My brother woke me up and threw balloons full of water, and replaced my toothpaste with sour candy gel.” Landon had one heck of an April Fools morning.
Fellow Sophomore, Carlos Rodriguez had a Doctor Suess themed April 1. He said, “My parents take April fools so seriously. This morning I woke up with shaving cream in my hair and my breakfast this morning was green eggs, and they tried to call it green eggs and ham.” However Koa Binder was one step ahead and played an April fool joke. Koa says, “I hid my sister’s car keys and we were almost late to school.”
