Pi day is a holiday in celebration of the numerical constant Pi. Though it may sound random at first, the reason this holiday came about is because March 14t corresponds with the first few digits of Pi (3.14) .It is definitely a lesser known event when compared to holidays like Christmas or Halloween. However this holliday can be very important to some people. For example, Mrs. Argot, who is a math teacher at HAHS, spends her whole day celebrating Pi day in her math classes.
Many math teachers in HAHS are dedicated to giving their students an amazing Pi day celebration. On Pi Day there was just about no classwork for Mrs. Argot’s students because she is holding a party in each of her classes. The party held in each class had fun games, snacks, music, and educational videos about the digit Pi. One of the games held at the party was a contest. This contest was to see who knew the most digits of Pi without messing up. The winner got to take a pick between 2-3 small things Mrs. Argot brought. Another game played was a naming game. Everyone wrote down as many words as they could that started the letters PI.
Overall, many of the math teachers went out of their way and successfully made PI day one of the best math days this school year.
