Since Valentine’s Day is over, many people can reflect on how they spent the love-filled day. People tend to spend the day with either their friends, significant others, or even alone, but some people do not even celebrate the day as they see it as a normal day. Those who do believe in the holiday tend to get flowers, candy, or other gifts from their friends, family, or significant others as a celebration of love.
Junior Bethany Stufflet spent the beginning of her day at her mom’s work. After that, she went to the mall with her mom and her sister to get her third piercing and cartilage pierced. Besides that, Valentine’s Day is also her dad’s birthday, so she and her family spent the night with him to celebrate. Spending time with her dad was also her favorite part of her day besides shopping. The worst part of her day was the pain that came along with getting her ears pierced, but getting her ears pierced was also the coolest part of her day as now she has three piercings.
Sophomore Molly Fox spent her Valentine’s Day watching rom-coms. She watched her favorite movie How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, along with 13 going on 30, and the trilogy of All of the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Besides just watching movies, her favorite part of her day was when her parents surprised her with flowers and a Jellycat stuffed animal. The worst part about her Valentine’s Day was that he did not have a Valentine to spend it with, but she is looking forward to next year for a possible change to that. Lastly, the coolest part of her day was getting Chick-fil-A for dinner.
Both students spent their day without a significant other and rather with family and a little bit alone. However, their choices show that people do not need a significant other to enjoy Valentine’s Day.
