After Thanksgiving has passed, the next holiday is right around the corner. Christmas happens to be a favorite among a lot of students, and people in general, because of the act of receiving presents and giving to loved ones or friends. Plenty of students have already planned their Christmas lists for what they want this year.
One student, Sophomore Lydia Fultz, does not have a very long list, because she says, “I don’t want to overwhelm my parents, since they have my siblings to shop for as well.” She also can not think of a lot to come up with, so her lists usually are not very long. This year, she is asking for more trendy items. “I really want a new Owala water bottle and Stanley.” This is because her older ones are smaller, and she does not like the dents and scratches they have from dropping them.
Another Sophomore, Brookelynn Foote, also wants a lot of trendy items and clothes. Her list, on the other hand, is longer and usually is year by year. “I hope I get a car, but I already know I’m not getting it.” The item she wants the most is a bit more expensive, but there is nothing wrong with that, especially since a lot of Sophomores are old enough to drive or will be old enough to drive soon. All she can do is hope to get her car.
Every Christmas is special and unique to every family. Even though not every family is the most fortunate with wealth, it is the thought and effort behind every gift that counts, not the true value.
