Christmas break is one of the biggest breaks during the school year in America, other than summer break, and it is one that many students and teachers look forward to. People do a variety of things during winter break. Some travel, and some just stay home with family and friends. Some people do what they do because of money, and some want to get away from the cold weather, and some simply do what they do because it is what they are more comfortable doing. With break being two weeks this year, rather than just over one, students have more time to do things.
Here at Hamburg, sophomore Brookelynn Foote says she is going to Orlando, Florida for Christmas break. She will be spending two days in Disney and a day at the beach. She is going to be home for Christmas and will be leaving afterwards. She says she likes traveling for breaks, and that they do it most years, so it is what she is used to.
Sophomore Elizabeth Carroll says she is getting her wisdom teeth removed for Christmas break! She says “although I am nervous, I am excited because they have been bothering me.” The rest of the break, she will just be spending time with family and eating soft foods.
Sophomore Arianna Naranjo says that she will be going to Mexico, and that she is excited.
People do all kinds of different things during their breaks: some travel, some stay home, some spend time with family and friends, and others get their wisdom teeth removed. Whatever it is, the important thing is that the experiences made were enjoyable, unless there is a surgical removal of teeth, and of course that there was some time off of school.
