On Sunday October 13 my father and I took a bus to New York City, along with the German exchange students. We left at 7:30 Am and got there by 9:30. We got off of the bus and walked around for a long time until we finally found Times Square. Five minutes into Times Square, a person dressed as a monk started to chase my dad down the sidewalk, and as we kept walking, the faster the monk walked. He tried selling my dad bracelets but my dad said no. The monk followed us for about 1 to 10 minutes. When we finally got away, and we went from shop to shop, we realized how expensive the pricing was, so we stopped going to the shops and just walked around to see nature. We ended up stopping at Ulta which is a beauty store, and my dad bought me a lip gloss and a Chapstick. We then continued walking to the Empire State building, but there was a huge line of people, so we unfortunately could not go in. My dad and I stopped at an Irish pub with lights and music blasting. We sat down together. We were there for about two hours and I ate a chicken sandwich and so did my dad. As we left we tried to find a place that I wanted to go to all day but we could not find it but it was underground so we walked around for an hour looking for this place just to find out that it was under us the whole time.
Last but not least we stopped to Build a Bear and I waited two hours in line just to get a $100 Build-A-Bear which was a brown cow. There were lots of bright lights and everyone was very loud and happy. Some of the food they had were pizza and Mexican food. They had a lot of street carts and people selling purses on the side of the roads. As it finally hit 5 o’clock so we headed back to the bus and sat and waited. We were exhausted from walking almost nine miles in one day. My father and I had a great time in New York City.
