Alaena wakes up every morning at 6:00 AM, and her sister, Brielle, says Alaena is not always in the best mood that early in the morning. She usually makes her way downstairs to get a bowl of her favorite breakfast, Fruity Pebbles. After she finishes eating, she heads back upstairs to start her typical morning routine. She brushes her teeth, brushes her hair, and picks out what she is going to wear for the day. Once everything is done and she is ready to go, Alaena grabs her things and heads out the door to meet her sister, Kaeli, who is waiting in the car.
Kaeli is always the one to drive her sisters to school in the morning and back home in the afternoon. She agrees with their sister, Brielle, that Alaena can be a bit moody during those early morning car rides. Both sisters joke that Alaena is practically a monster in the morning. However, Alaena has a different take on it. She insists, “I am a delight to be around in the morning, especially when Kaeli plays the songs I like or when she takes us to Dunkin.”
Once Alaena gets to school, her day starts off well with her first period being Publications, her favorite class. Unfortunately, the second period, Biology, is not one of her favorites. It is not the worst, but all the note-taking makes it boring. Third period is something she looks forward to, not just because she enjoys German, but also because her friend Chase is in the class. World Cultures comes next, and she has fun there too since she gets to hang out with friends and discuss interesting topics that they are learning about. Fourth period, Algebra 2, is her least favorite because she finds it difficult and boring, but she always tries her hardest. After Algebra, she either gets a break with study hall or heads to gym. Lunch follows, where she usually sits with her sister Brielle’s friends. Finally, her day ends on a high note with Honors English, a class she enjoys because she loves the subject and finds the work manageable.
When the school day finally ends, Alaena has to get ready for field hockey. While she enjoys playing, she admits that it can be annoying at times. Once she gets home, she does not need to stress about homework since she usually finishes it during study halls and flex periods. Her nightly routine is pretty simple: she takes a shower, gets dressed for bed, brushes her hair, washes her face, brushes her teeth, and makes sure she is in bed by 10 PM so then she can be ready to do it all again the next day. Alaena states a good way to help the school day go smoothly is try your hardest and stay focused.
