As a new season starts, sophomores are adjusting to their second year of high school. Some students are making easy adjustments while others are still getting the hang of being a sophomore. This is only their second year, and they could still be adjusting to the high school environment as well as their new classes and schedule. One sophomore, Evangeline Kern, said, “I am settling in great this year. Everything is going smoothly.” It’s a good sign for students to be adjusting back to their schedules, in school and at home, after coming back from summer. She also said that she enjoys all of her current classes and is doing well in all of them.
As school progresses, some students can have problems getting work in on time or finishing assignments. Evangeline also stated, “I like all my peers, teachers, and classes. All the teachers are super nice and understanding.” Along with coming back to school and finishing schoolwork, it is also good to build a relationship with fellow students and teachers.
Another sophomore, Isaac Wilson, said that he is settling into this year very well, and he thinks the switch was easy. Most students seemed to have adjusted well, unlike last year as they were all freshmen. Isaac said, “My classes are alright and there’s nothing to complain about.” Students should not just pass the class, but also enjoy it and get by with help from others when needed. Along with help, Isaac mentioned that he is settling in well with his teachers and other sophomores without any issues. It is good for the grade and the entire high school community, to be able to get by every year and settle in easily. Most of the sophomore class is settling in very well for their second year, and they seem to be enjoying the year as well.
