On September 18, the seniors dominated the juniors 58-7 in the annual homecoming powderpuff game at 7:30 PM at the high school stadium. This was a flag football game played between the girls of the junior and senior classes. There were also cheerleaders for both classes cheering their teams on along the way. There were also coaches who coached both players and cheerleaders. This is a very fun, competitive event that happens every year during the week of homecoming. The class of 2025 won the game both years they competed.
Senior Isabella Reader had a lot of fun competing in the game as center. She said the coaches and players on her team made it enjoyable and mentioned, “My favorite part of the game was celebrating with my friends when we would get a touchdown! All the plays we practiced paying off was a great feeling. I decided to play in the game this year because I did my junior year and loved it so much! It’s a great way to get involved and play a game with your friends and classmates!” Isabella also emphasized how the practices were very enjoyable and full of learning curves due to all of them being new to the plays.
Junior Kyla Rogers also enjoyed the game. She shared, “My favorite part of the game was seeing everyone so hyped and ready to play. The practices were enjoyable, and I feel it really brought the girls in our grade together.” Kyla’s position got switched mid game from wide receiver to running back due to her incredible abilities to weave in between everyone the quickest. She decided to play this year since she is athletic, competitive, and loves a friendly competition.
