Dylan Gough is a junior at Hamburg Area High School whose interests include sports, playing video games, and hanging out with friends. Dylan specifically enjoys playing Rainbow Six Siege with his good friends Will Havens, Chase Homan, Chase Denatala, and Noah Hasenauer. Dylan also really loves to travel. This year, he and his family took a trip to Cancun, Mexico, and he visited so many beautiful and fun places. He hopes there is more travel to come in the future.
In school, his favorite subject is math since he finds it easier than most other subjects. It is also enjoyable to him. “I just have always found math to be easy,” says Dylan. His favorite class he has taken so far in his high school career was honors chemistry with Mr. Laughlin. Dylan says, “The people in my chemistry class last year made it so fun, which is why I would say it was my favorite.”
In high school, he takes part in pickleball club and yard games club. His decision to join these clubs was because he enjoys physical activity.
Dylan plays soccer in the fall, baseball in the spring and over the summer, and competes in shot put during winter track season. He plays center back in soccer. He plays first base, outfield, and pitches for baseball. His current soccer number this season is 14. His favorite sport is baseball, and this is because he enjoys playing it and watching it the most. Dylan has so many favorite baseball memories, but his absolute favorite is from the junior legion season of 2024 when he and his team placed second in the state championship. According to Dylan he says, “Losing in the championship sucked, but I hit .571 in states and won the batting champion award which was a great accomplishment.” Dylan takes his athletics very seriously, and he is widely known for striving while on the field, whether that is baseball or soccer. Dylan says, “If I had to give advice to student athletes, it would be to always work hard no matter what.”
Dylan wants to go to college when he graduates, but he does not know where he would like to go or what he wants to major in. He is very good with his academics and even came in rank 12 at the end of sophomore year. Dylan really has enjoyed his high school experience so far and hopes his junior and senior year will be even better.
