On July 1 of this year Mrs. Hoover moved to the District Office leaving her former position as a high school principal’s secretary behind. As high school secretary, she would update the morning announcements, field student staff and parents phone calls, and mail discipline and debt letters. Some additional work she would do include working on graduation with Mrs. McCarthy, and working on the honors breakfast with Mrs. Fink.
She is now Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and school board secretary. Her job consists of compiling minutes from bi-weekly meetings and supporting school board members when needed. Overall she supports the superintendent, Dr. Beissel. She also continues to field phone calls as well. She is very busy but she is working hard. The thing she will miss the most is seeing the kids in the high school as she does not get to see much of them anymore in her new position.
Mrs. Hoover originally thought this would have been a bit of a harder change for her, but she was familiar with Dr. Beissel because she worked with him in the high school office, which helped her. Though she says the change in positions was easier than she expected, she still has a lot to learn and says she is up for a challenge.
Mrs. McCarthy, who has worked with Mrs. Hoover on graduation planning for many years knows she is great for the new position saying, “She is very organized, helpful and friendly.” Mrs. Hoover is taking the change in her position well and is excited to have this opportunity
Mrs. Hoover wants to let students know, “I miss everyone and wish you all the best of luck in the 2024-2025 school year.”
