As the summer came to an end and school started up again, many students are feeling stressed and unenthusiastic. Now that the first week of school is out of the way, I decided to ask some students how they feel about summer being gone.
Junior Tia Adam was sad that she would have to go back to school and start waking up early again as well as not being able to work as much. Although she was happy that she would have something to do since she thought her summer was pretty boring. Overall she was just excited to see her friends again. Her first impression of the year was pretty stressful. She realized she did not have many classes with friends but she also realized that things got better as the day went on.
Sophomore Kaylum Riegel, was actually happy that school was starting because he missed all of his friends, teachers, and classes. However, he said “As school started again, it genuinely didn’t feel like school was starting.” He was not nervous about school and was more excited to see his friends and favorite teachers again. Overall he does not think this school year will be much different for him as he is only a sophomore now. The only thing he sees differently is that he is no longer a freshman. The thing he is looking forward to most is being able to participate or just be at school events and being active in his clubs.
Additionally, I myself was completely in denial about school starting again, and I could not believe that I am now a junior. My first few days were rough, but now things seem to be looking up for me. I can not wait to get back into clubs and all of the fun events I participate in and make my junior year as fun as possible. However, sometimes students just want to be at home already.
