Summer just finished and school is back in session. The students at Hamburg Area High School are talking about their summer trips. One of the more popular places to visit was the beach. Not everyone visited the same beach; some traveled to the east coast beaches and some traveled towards the west. The two most popular east coast beaches were the Outer Banks and Virginia beach.
Kaeli and Brielle Cox, a senior and sophomore, visited Virginia beach with their mom and sister and visited Illinois with their dad. They enjoyed the sound of the waves on the beach, all the nice places they went to eat in Virginia, and enjoyed visiting family and friends in Illinois. They would recommend visiting Virginia beach because the water was not too cold, and they would recommend visiting the arch and aquarium in Illinois.
Koa Binder, a sophomore, traveled to the Outer Banks with her cousins. While she was there she won a five dollar discount on a stuffed animal duck. Koa had a wonderful time at Outer Banks and would recommend going. Koa visited the Outer Banks once when she was seven and just went back this summer.
Kaida Chwatek, a freshman, visited Virginia with her family. It was not the first time she visited the state though. On her trip she enjoyed playing softball and swimming. Kaida would recommend adding Virginia to the bucket list, as she has plans to return.
Not all the students favored the beach as their summer trip. Some traveled for sports. Jarrid Hilt, another sophomore, traveled to North Dakota State University for a PA national wrestling tournament. He enjoyed meeting and wrestling people from all over the nation, as well as improving his wrestling skills. The tournament showed different levels of talent in wrestling and at times pushed him. He does not recommend going to the tournament if there is a lack of confidence in wrestling.
Some students took road trips and remained inside of Pennsylvania. Chase Brodhead, a sophomore, took a trip to the Poconos with his mom, his aunt, and her family. This was a first time trip for Chase, and he enjoyed the Airbnb and the waterfalls he saw on his hikes. Although he had such a great time, Chase would only recommend the trip to those who are outdoorsy. Sitting inside up in the Poconos is definitely not recommended by the students at Hamburg Area High School.
