HAHS spring break begins on March 26, a half day for the district, and ends on April 2 when students come back to school. During break, on March 31, is Easter and it is the day for Catholics/Christians to celebrate the third day of Jesus’ resurrection. For those who are not Catholic/Christian, they make up their own traditions, make up egg hunts, or think of it as any other day.
One freshman, Jayden Henry, celebrates Easter by doing egg hunts, eating candy, and coloring eggs. He does not have anything planned other than going to either hang out with his friends Carice Hoppes and Alexander Diegel. A second freshman, Carice Hoppes, celebrates Easter by going to her grandmother’s house and having Easter lunch or dinner. Before Covid, Carice and her family used to go to church because that was really the only time they had. Her family does not really have plans over the break other than spending time with each other. The last freshman, Mia “Mika” Owens, does celebrate Easter but a little bit differently from their family. Mika’s family is religious than them, so they just enjoy egg hunts (sometimes when their grandmother plans the event) and Easter Dinner, which usually consists of ham, mashed potatoes, corn, and green beans. The only plan that they have over Easter/spring break is spending time with their family and talking with their friends.
