March 6 was an anticipated day for choir students as they prepared for “bring a friend to choir day”, where students were invited to introduce their friends to one of their favorite activities.
Christian Brown, senior, is a member of the school choir. While he did not bring anyone to the activity, he shared, “My favorite part was reflecting on my past in choir and encouraging others who love music and singing to join choir without being afraid of singing by themselves.” An excuse for avoiding new activities is often the fear of being alone. By allowing students to bring one friend, that fear was completely avoided and everyone brought was guaranteed a mentor. Singing with friends is a fun activity anywhere else, so the idea of singing with friends in school was something that helped promote the event. Christian also shared, “I do think this would motivate people to join considering we were able to add about 4 or 5 new people into the choir after the activity.” The well-planned activity was able to spark interest from students and proved to be a functioning campaign for students to join.
