At Hamburg Area High School the week before Valentine’s day is always eventful. Every year around Valentine’s day LEO club sells silk roses. Students can buy them for $1 and they are able to write a small note to send to a person of their choosing. This allows the students to surprise their friends and significant others with something special on Valentine’s Day. The roses are always sold at lunches and they get delivered in homeroom on Valentine’s day. This year the club raised over $100.
Maddie Handwerk was one of the LEO club members that sold roses at lunch. On the other hand, Tia Adam and I organized the roses and attached the notes to them. We also put them in teachers’ mailboxes for homeroom teachers to hand out in the morning.
