With the holiday season occurring, it is a great time to discuss family traditions.
Sophomore Allie Houck’s traditions consist of a lot of family time. Starting on Christmas Eve, Allie visits her great aunt and uncle’s house where they eat many different traditional Italian foods, due to their Italian background. Then on Christmas morning after her family opens their presents, they go to her Nonna’s house, where they open more presents, but they hide the used wrapping paper. Even though she and her family hide the wrapping paper, her Nonna does not find all of it, leaving her to be finding wrapping paper for months. Her family’s wrapping paper tradition was started by her uncle on a Christmas when she was younger.
Sophomore Morgan Riegel visits a lot of family during Christmas break due to the changing family dynamics in her family. To begin her family visits, she goes to her grandma’s house on her dad’s side of the family on Christmas Eve, along with going to a Christmas Eve church service. She also made cookies with her boyfriend, cousins, and her grandma on her mom’s side. Then she visits her grandpa’s house on her dad’s side of the family before Christmas. Overall her Christmas break tends to be chaotic with all of the family visits.
A lot of Christmas traditions seem to revolve around spending time with family. With family people tend to enjoy small activities such as baking or playing some fun tricks.
