With the second quarter slowly starting it gives students time to reflect on the first quarter, make new goals for this quarter, and predict how it could go. Three sophomores Allie Houck, Morgan Riegel, and John Sharp gave me their predictions, outcomes, and goals for the second quarter.
Allie Houck had a good start to her first quarter, but it slowly went down hill after she ended the quarter with a concussion which made her miss out on a large amount of school. She is thankfully getting better and is making it to school a bit more. Her goals for this quarter are that she will stay more organized with her classes and keep grades above an 85. Allie also strongly wants to have good grades in chemistry to help with her future career. Overall Allie predicts that she will hopefully be able to keep good grades and prioritize school work.
Morgan Riegel had a good first quarter to start off her sophomore year. Since she ended the first quarter with a good start, she has a decent idea of how she can make the second quarter successful too. Morgan has three main goals for this quarter including keeping grades of around 96-100s in her honors classes and 90-100s in her AP Biology class. Along with grades, she would like to be able to continue to have a GPA of 105. Besides academic goals for school, outside of school, she would like to improve on her archery skills. After goals, she plans on visiting her doctor mentor at St. Luke’s Hospital over Thanksgiving break. So she is predicting in the hope that she will have good grades this quarter and visit some of her after-school activities more. Overall Morgan predicts that she will hopefully keep a high 90 grade range in her classes and visit her out-of-school activities more.
John Sharp had an okay first quarter. With his first quarter being “ok,” he has hopes of getting A’s and B’s for the second quarter. Besides just grades, he would also like to keep his GPA at around the 80s and 90s. Overall John predicts that he will hopefully get good grades to help with his GPA.
With all of these goals and predictions grades seem to be the main focus point for students. They seem to like to keep a high GPA and decent average grades, which is always a good thing for school and their future.
