Maria Brown, sophomore, goes to Berks Career and Technology Center for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Therapy. She plans to go to college to become a Physical Therapist.
Maria loves BCTC because, “BCTC is so much fun and I get to do things I actually enjoy and want to do. I see many people from different schools and it is a lot easier than I thought it would be.”
In BCTC, the curriculum is based on the profession and shop students pick. Maria picked Sports Medicine so what she’s learning is anatomy and sports medicine based things whereas school is just math, english, history and science.
Maria has always had a passion for helping others, she also likes sports, she plays softball for HAHS and she has played many other sports in the past so it works perfectly. Maria volunteers for Keystone Military Families. She has always taken an interest in the athletic trainers. Maria found happiness and interest in Physical Therapy.
