Starting this 2023-2024 academic school year, Student Council has two new advisors. Mr. Kline and Mr. Gaul stepped up and are ready to make a change for the student body. They share the same common goals: to get more involvement in the school and a better high school community.
The Student Council club description on Hamburg Area School District website is: “Student Council is responsible for activities like Homecoming, pep rallies, spirit weeks, the Holiday Dance, and various fundraisers throughout the year. The purpose of the club is to promote school spirit and provide fun, safe ways for the student body to interact, get involved, volunteer to help others in the district, and to be the student leaders and role models.” According to Mr. Kline, this year’s student council membership numbers have tripled, especially males.
A new big event that STUCO will be doing this year is a charity basketball game. This will be a basketball game that is middle school staff vs highschool staff. The event will be held in the high school gymnasium on February 23 at 6-8 pm. The goal of the event is to raise money for charity and to get the community involved.
