In honor of the school year beginning, a survey was sent out to all students of Hamburg Area High School to vote on their favorite school supplies. A total of 90 responses were sent. Out of those 90 responses a whopping 21.1% said that their favorite school supply was their backpack. The second highest was 11.5% for notebook and calculator and the third highest was a tie between post-it notes and pencil case with 10%. It is understandable that so many students like their backpacks. They are very convenient and students can customize them however they would like to express themselves. Sticky-notes are also very useful and can come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. They can be used to make notes in class or when reading a book. They can also be used to make to-do lists or to doodle in class.
Riley Mohn, a sophomore at HAHS, was one of the students who voted for a backpack. She likes backpacks regardless of the heavy weight. She said “It helps build stamina and is very easy to take on and off when I want to set stuff down.” Riley also likes how some backpacks come with matching lunch bags. She likes the convenience of backpacks and just how much can fit in them.
