Mrs. Schaeffer came to Hamburg because a lot of her friends who are faculty work here and were asking her to work for our school because they thought she would be a great fit since she loves helping kids. She loves the Hamburg faculty because they are incredibly nice and so are the students.
Being the “new student” at this school is hard for her, but eventually she will get adjusted to being here. She had been teaching for 18 years, and 17 of them were in Minersville. Mrs. Schaefer’s favorite subject in school was math because the numbers were so easy for her. She chose to teach special education because she felt the need to help other kids/people in need for their learning.
Mrs. Schaeffer was an only child until she was 21. Her parents had a boy and girl. When she was a child she was really into Girl Scouts and sports and loved school a lot. She has lived in Schuylkill county for most of her life but spent time in Cocoa Beach, Florida and Hampton, Virginia after HS graduation. She is raising her two sons in Schuylkill County. She always grew up around the country setting, whether that be around motorcycles, four wheelers, or hunting weapons.
