Mrs. McCarthy shares responsibilities as a librarian
May 5, 2023
Mrs. McCarthy is the librarian at Hamburg Area High School. She takes care of many things including everthing from ordering, processing, circulation, inter-library loan, databases, subscriptions, managing the space when other teachers want to come in and do things, the printers in the library, and the toner making sure it is filled.
There are about five lost books each year. If a student does not pay the fee for losing the book right away, then it gets put on their record until graduation. If they do not pay then they cannot graduate.
Mrs. McCarthy likes the alternative seating choices, the carpet (not all classrooms have carpet) and she likes just seeing the books. It reminds her that there are so many talented writers and all of the important information and facts that are in the books.
