Hamburg votes on favorite Christmas movies

 With the Christmas season coming up, many are getting around to catching up on their favorite Christmas movies. The question is though, what is the most favorite Christmas movie at Hamburg Area High School? 

    Hamburg Area High School students share the titles of their favorite Christmas movies. There were a total of 88 votes, with 22 different answers. Out of the 22 answers there were five votes that did not fit into the “Christmas movie” category, this led to 17 Christmas movie votes. The top voted Christmas movie was “Home Alone”. Tied in second place was “The Grinch” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. “The Nightmare Before Christmas” is a debatable Christmas movie. In third place was “Elf”. Following in fourth place was “A Christmas Story” and “Rudolph”. And lastly “Christmas Vacation” with five total votes. 

     According to rottentomatoes.com (Rotten Tomatoes) the best Christmas movie of all time is “Meet me in St. Louis”. The second best movie of all time is “The Shop Around the Corner”. The third best movie is “Miracle on 34th Street”. In fourth place is “Tangerine”. And lastly in fifth place is “Klaus”.

     Comparing our school’s favorite Christmas movie to Rotten Tomatoes they are very different. Rotten Tomatoes has more classical movies in top places where our school has more childish movies.
