On Tuesday, October 25, five students from HAHS STUCO visited Perry Elementary for Red Ribbon Week. The Hawk mascot attended this event to encourage healthy choices and the students and the hawk went to grades K-Five handing out Red Ribbons, with the hawk getting a bunch of high fives and hugs. The students they went to see seemed very excited to see the hawk and the girls.

Red Ribbon week is a week when kids can celebrate a drug free life. They are the nation’s largest and longest-running drug-use prevention campaign. “National Family Partnership, formerly the National Federation of Parents for Drug Free Youth, was established as a grassroots, nonprofit organization in 1980 by a handful of concerned and determined parents who were convinced they should begin to play a leadership role in drug prevention.”
