Faculty Spotlight: Bruce Stump
October 11, 2022
There are many parts that make the school year run smoothly. Teachers, students, lunch ladies, custodiens and aids all work together to make it a good year. All jobs are very important but one group that are looked over are custodiens. They work very hard to make sure everything is clean and running smoothly. There are seven custodians and sometimes students volunteer and help.
Bruce Stump is one of the many custodians working at the school. He has been working in the school district since 2009. He first started working at the high school then he went to tilden then when covid hit he went to perry than back to the high school. His schedule changes everyday so when he comes in he never knows what he is going to be doing. He is always trying to do funny things for his co-workers and students to try and make the day go by faster. Bruce said, “Work can be challenging at times but it is always fun.” Rhonda Kilner is the head custodian at the high school and works everyday with Bruce. She said, “I came three weeks after Bruce and my first impression was he was funny. He is always doing something so the day is not boring. He is a very good worker. He comes to work everyday and knows a lot about the job.”
When it comes to Bruce’s personal life he is very busy. He lives on a farm with his wife in Lenhartsville. They do not have any kids but they have four cats and three horses. In his early life he went to school in Hamburg and lived in Lenhartsville. Some of his hobbies include riding horses, hunting when he can and line dancing. While he is on summer break he enjoys camping and going to amusement parks. In the future when he retires he hopes to go on trips to Kentucky and Colombia. He wants to continue living in Lenhartsville but if he could, he would want to move to Colorado.
