PFE Spotlight Josephine Kelly

Danelle Wollyung

Josephine Kelly is a PFE student, and being in this program allows students to go out into the world and experience their future careers. Josephine Kelly goes to school for half of a day and then for the rest of the day, she goes to St. John’s Kinder Klass to work. She enjoys being around children and working with them. While working with them, she feels very helpful and inspiring towards the soon to be young adults. While doing this it makes her feel like she is serving a purpose.

Ever since she was little, she wanted to work with children in daycare. When she was younger she went to daycare, and they allowed her to come back in the summer to help out with other people who went there. In her family there were a lot of babies that she had to help out and take care of. Josephine wanted to start this career mainly because of her family. By having many babies in her family, that made her open up her love and teaching children.

Josephine likes to work with children who are a couple months old to around five. The younger they are the more she enjoys caring for them. She also enjoys when they explore new things and are very open. She loves how innocent they are, the questions they come up with, and watching them figure out little things in life.

Although she loves the idea of working in a daycare with children, she is not quite sure what she would like to go to college for. The certification and knowledge she would need to move forward in this career is everything she is going to receive being involved in the PFE program. If she continues this pathway she would love to still work with children in some type of way.
