Mr. Buggy teaching another year

LeeAnn Mills

One of the social studies teachers at Hamburg is Mr. Buggy and this year is his second year back in the classroom after being at the administrative end of our school for two years. Mr. Buggy was ecstatic about last year and rated it a 10 out of 10 saying it was a “Great year to come back.” A big difference from this year to recent years is that he is teaching Military and Pennsylvania History classes, which had been offered in the past. His clear favorite is military history, and his passion for the subject shows in the classroom. He plans to do more battle simulations and focus more on WW1 in his World Cultures classes. His experience in the administrative end of the school was an advantage to him going back to teaching, because it allowed him to get to know more students as well as their strengths and weaknesses.

Juiliette Buckwalter, a sophomore, said the classroom environment was positive, enjoyable, and fun. She also said that the subject of history has grown on her and become easier to learn in such a short time. Juliette also said Mr. Buggy’s teaching style gets everyone excited, brightens everyone’s day, and gets people talking who do not normally talk. With this very positive and stress free environment Hamburg is excited to see Mr. Buggy’s second time around teaching.
