Christmas break should be longer

Sadie Haines

Christmas is over, but it never really felt like Christmas in the first place. Christmas season is one of the busiest times of the year. There are people rushing to buy presents, food and tons of other things. Most people do not have time to do the things they want to in order to get into the Christmas spirit, like going to parties and decorating.  People typically celebrate the most during Christmas break but it seems like break is getting shorter. This year at HAHS Christmas break started on Christmas Eve and ended on the day after New Years. In earlier years Christmas break was longer and gave people more time to get into the spirit. Christmas break is supposed to be this nice long relaxing break but people are trying to cram all of their Christmas activities into this short amount of time because of the lack of time before Christmas break.

Kamryn Witman and Maile Bentz agree that Christmas break should be longer. They both agreed that people need more time to celebrate before Christmas happens. At BCTC ( Berks Career and Technology Center ), classes stopped on the 22nd and students got to go home after completing their mandatory classes at school. Other schools in the area had similar schedules to Hamburg. The holiday calendar is decided by the school district.
