According to College Board, the PSAT is prep for the SAT that “includes a Reading test, Writing and Language test, and Math test.” The PSAT is used to find eligible juniors for scholarships, programs, and academic honors.

Here in Hamburg, the PSAT will be taking place Wednesday, October 12  in the New Gym. Most junior students say they are not nervous or a little bit nervous about the PSATs for various reasons. Some say the SAT is what really matters so they are not concerned about the upcoming PSAT. Other people said they are a little uneasy because this shows them how prepared they are for the SAT during their senior year. Not many, but some junior students are very worried about the PSATs because they can give scholarships to colleges which can be essential.

Speaking of colleges, most juniors taking the PSAT are college bound, while some are taking it just in case. The PSATs are free for any junior at Hamburg Area High School and are a very important preparation step for those going to college.
