Hannah Gravish, a senior at Hamburg Area High School, is participating in PFE to intern at Penn State St. Joseph hospital. She got the information for this internship from Mrs. Benz and applied last year. Hannah is an intern in the surgical unit and goes there from 7:30 to 9:30 am everyday Monday through Friday. Some of the tasks she carries out while there are cleaning and making beds, cleaning rooms, taking patients back to their rooms prior to surgery, and observing some surgeries at certain times. She is really enjoying her internship so far and is excited to continue learning through this experience. She states, “This is helping me for my future by providing me knowledge and experience in the hospital atmosphere.” Hannah is unsure about specific future plans, but she does know that she wants to go to college and go into the medical field.
